Hugh "Dean" Gill

Dean was born on September 21, 1941 in Peoria to Hugh and Theresa Gill. He married Alice “Lucille” Levi on December 24, 1960 in Peoria Heights. She preceded him in death on October 24, 1997. He is also preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his children, Hugh Dean (Debbie) Gill, Jr. of Norwood, IL, Robert Gill of Peoria, IL, Paula Neal of Peoria, IL, Margie (Heidi Kamp) Gill of East Peoria, IL and Johnny (Debbie Patterson) Gill of Norwood, IL; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and his sister, Mary Bradshaw of North Carolina.

Dean served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1964. He then worked as a machine operator for Caterpillar retiring in 1990. Dean was very strong-willed guy with a big heart. He loved his family dearly. He enjoyed playing pool and cards, especially poker.

A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria with visitation one hour prior to the service at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria.
