I am sorry we could not come to the funeral. We are staying home, working from home, and avoiding crowds due to Buzz's surgeries, etc.
I will always remember Aunt Eileen as my "fire cracker" aunt. She was so friendly. She always sparked a conversation with me whenever she saw me. I'll always remember feeling so tired at the Walk for the Cure (Koman) and spying Aunt Eileen just booking along at an energetic pace.
She loved to give me trouble (always good naturedly) for missing a Haefli reunion, and always followed up with asking about my life and my siblings. I loved Eileen and I hope I can be more like her. Kindly, Sal Plattner

Mrs. Haefli was a wonderful mother and friend to Terry & Rhonda's friends. Sometimes I think we pushed our limits on overnight "spreads". samores, popcorn & chatting.

Thank you for loving our group of RHS friends. She & others made us stronger as friends who cared about each other, school, broad-reaching friends, & what's important in life.

Your Mother was a terrific neighbor and welcomed my very young family into the neighborhood. I still have the baby blankets she knitted for my two kids (over 30 years ago!). We spoke all the time and of course the kids and grandkids were always over for the family gatherings, which we were often included. She showed the world what a family looked liked, who were close and loved each other. She will be missed.

Linda and family - I can remember the times as a little girl when your Mother welcomed me into your home to play with Linda. My prayers are with you all as you celebrate her life.

May God comfort each of you!
Ilene moved to Skylines while Mom (Clara Yackley) was living there. Having one more cousin close made Mom's stay more pleasant.

Our sympathies to your whole family. Even though we know they are in a better place
and happy, healthy and whole, we still miss them so much when they are gone.

A memory of Ilene - she was the one my mother in law Helen Mangold would call on here in Florida when we weren’t around to pick up things she needed or for help with anything.

They were both proud and spunky ladies that probably didn’t like asking anyone for help, but they felt comfortable with and loved each other enough to be able to do that. They were sister in laws and friends, too, and that was a blessing.

Eric, Katrine & Family--

Thinking of you & lifting you up in prayers at this time of losing your Mother. It's never easy losing ones parents & trust that you have many happy memories to sustain you through the days ahead. Rejoicing that she is safe in the arms of Jesus! Will be thinking of you & remembering you in
my prayers . Hope to see you both this year when I return home to Bloomington!

Blessings!

Eric was in my Sunday School class and high school classmate. Ilene and my mom, Hazel Geyer, were in “sewing circles” over the years and later, with their spouses, enjoyed bus trips. But I vividly recall Mom and Ilene, in their 90’s, sitting together on the dining room alcove bench after church noon dinner every time we visited Peoria. I loved how those two long-time friends didn’t need to gab the whole hour, but relax and visit easily. I wish to be that kind of loyal friend.
With deepest sympathy, Karen K

My favorite memory is getting off the school bus from grade school on cookie making day! I would walk into dozens and dozens and dozens of cookies our Mothers made every year at Christmas time. Yum!

These last few years it was our great privilege eating out every Thursday night with your parents (until your Dad passed) and then your mom and my mom! Now Ilene can eat all the bean burritos she wants in heaven :)

Our sympathies and love to the whole family, Gordy & Martha
