Irene C Ricca

She was born April 17, 1929 in Peoria to Lawrence P. and Lovdy (Miller) Meyer. She married John S. Ricca in Peoria on Aug. 20, 1949. He preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters, Marie Faley, Helen Day and JoAnn Newcomer.

Irene was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be remembered for her sweet smile and her pleasant disposition. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Surviving are 9 children, Dennis (Judy) Ricca, George (Pat) Ricca, Ginny (Don) Sorensen, Leon (Patty) Ricca, Sue (Larry) Herring, Ed Ricca, Kathy (Scott) Tolson, Sharry (Mike) Mohr, Ken (Cheryl) Ricca; 23 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Irene attended Holy Family Church and Blessed Sacrament Church. She was a former member of the St. John’s and St. Anthony’s Altar and Rosary Society.

Funeral Mass will at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Holy Family Church in Peoria with Franciscan Friars officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Davison-Fulton Funeral Home in Peoria with further visitation one hour before Funeral Mass Tuesday at the Church. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.
