

He was born March 11, 1942 in Peoria to Donald and Magdalen (Meyer) Bollwinkle. He first married Nancy Kaspar Aug. 15, 1964 in Peoria. She passed away June 5, 1999 in Iowa City. He later married Christine Bonati Dec. 29, 2000 in Peoria. She survives along with James’s two daughters: Anne Marie (John) Buckert of Rochester, MI, Carrie Lynn (Michael) Swanson of Costa Mesa, CA, one step-son, Joshua Bonati of Brooklyn, NY, two granddaughters: Samantha and Jacquelyn Buckert of Rochester, MI, and one sister, Kathy (Jerry) Constantino of Pinehurst, N.C.
Jim graduated from the University of Illinois and later earned his MBA from Bradley University.
Jim was an Eagle Scout and proudly served his country in the Army at Red Stone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. He then passed the CPA exam and began working at Price Waterhouse in Peoria. His career then took him to The Federal Companies where he held a variety of positions, retiring as Vice President in 2002 after 30 years.
Jim loved to fish and cheer on his beloved Fighting Illini. He also was an avid wood craftsman, building beautiful furniture for family and friends. He was member of the Peoria Downtown Rotary Club and former Board Member of Crittenton. He also served on the church council at Salem Lutheran Church.
Jim was a wonderful husband, amazing father, and loving grandfather.
Visitation will be Thursday July 23, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Funeral services will be Friday July 24, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Northminster Presbyterian Church. Rev. Mike Shirey will officiate.
Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials and donations to either go to Crittenton Centers or Lutheran Hillside Village Foundation, both in Peoria.
