PEORIA - James Crawford Burbank, 77, of Peoria passed away at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2015, at his residence. He was born June 5, 1938, in Peoria, the son of John and Anna Lowery Burbank. He married Nancy Bumgardner in 1960 in Traverse City, Mich. James is survived by his four children, James C. (Kathy) Burbank of Interlochen, Mich., John D. Burbank, Margo Griffin and Cindy McQueer, all of Traverse City, Mich.; two sisters, Debra (Lawrence) Groth of Emden and Becky Burton of West Peoria; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents; one grandchild, Ryan; and a nephew, Shane. James worked as a chemist for Keystone Steel & Wire Co. until his retirement. He later worked for Caterpillar Inc. in the lab for a few years. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. Cremation rites have been accorded. To honor his wishes, there will be no services. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
