

Born June 26, 1924 in Port Huron, MI to Alan and Beatrice (Bissett) Carlisle. He married Mary Jo Rogers on June 27, 1953. She preceded him in death on April 5, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents and son, Scott Carlisle in 2006.
Surviving are his daughter, Jodi Carlisle of Burbank, CA; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Carlisle of Peoria Heights; four grandchildren, Ryan (Carolyn) Carlisle of Winchester, KY, Rachel (Nick) Brown of Princeville, Elizabeth Towns-Law of Riverside, Aaron Carlisle of Peoria Heights; and three great-grandchildren, Anna and Evelyn Brown, and Henry Carlisle.
James was a WWII Army Veteran. He served in Germany and France receiving a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He received a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Michigan State University. He worked for the Peoria Sanitary District as the Manager retiring after 25 years of service. He formerly taught girls softball at Peoria Christian and also was his son’s baseball coach for many years. He was devoted to his family and will be dearly missed.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with Rev. Gary Roseboom officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services on Monday at the Chapel. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
