

He was born April 26, 1930 in Bloomington to Joseph and Nanna Doty Fleming. He married Madeleine Kroeger on December 24, 1951 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are four children, Brian (Carla) Fleming of Glasford, Paula (friend, Henry) Moews of Bartonville, Karen (Ed) Etherton of Dunlap, and Diane (Jay) Holloman of Washington; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one step grandson; two step great grandchildren; and three brothers, Joseph (Grace) Fleming of Bartonville, Jack (Betty) Fleming of Morton, and Tom (Carol) Fleming of Edwards.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1951 to 1953 in Germany during the Korean War.
Bill was a member of the Stationary Operating Engineers Local #8/#399 for 44 years having served as President from 1965 to their merging with local #399 in Chicago in 1975. He was employed at Jefferson Hotel, Hiram Walker Distillery and Bradley University retiring in 1992.
He was part owner of Mid Town Bowling Lanes and was past owner of several harness race horses.
He was a Cubs, Bears, and Bradley Braves fan. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and were able to see all 30 major league baseball teams play a home game. They also enjoyed their trips to Las Vegas.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Rev. Dr. Philip D. Lund will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. tonight at the chapel and one hour prior to the service Saturday. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
