James Russell Gulley

James was a lifelong resident of Peoria, Illinois. He married Susan Dane on August 18, 1973, and they shared many wonderful years together until her passing on December 21, 2024.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Gulley.

James is survived by his children, Brian (Jennifer) Gulley of Peoria and Katie Gulley of Litchfield. He was a proud grandfather to Jackson and Camden Gulley. He is also survived by his sister, Jan (Jeff) Gerdin, and his brother, Dave Gulley.

He worked as a Produce Clerk at Kroger; retiring after 31 years.

James was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and the St. Louis Cardinals, and he treasured vacationing in Door County, Wisconsin, and Ely, Minnesota. Above all, he loved being a grandpa.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, starting at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria, with visitation one hour prior to the services. Pastor Karl Eckhoff will officiate.
