James H. Oedewaldt

He was born in Mapleton on Aug. 26, 1933 to Seth and Angeline (Pedze) Oedewaldt. He married Wanda Wheeler in Alta, IL on June 27, 1959. She survives.

Papa is also survived by three daughters, Crystal (Bud) Dowell of Peoria, Selese (Paul) Anderson of Malmo, Sweden, Jennifer (Patrick) Towne of Winfield; six grandchildren, Jamie and Kaylee Dowell, Natalie and Ryan Anderson, Connor and Samantha Towne; three brothers, Roy, Lindy (Mariella), Clyde (Janet); one sister, Ella Mae (Roland) Woolcock; two sisters in law, Lois, and Judy; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Charles, Earl, George; and sister in law, Eunice.

James worked as an electrician for IBEW Local #34 in Peoria before retiring.

Funeral Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010 at Richwoods Christian Church at 8115 N. Knoxville Ave. in Peoria, with the Rev. Jim Powell officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria and also one hour before services at the Church on Sunday. Cremation will be accorded following services.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Dream Factory of Central IL, or to the American Lung Association.
