James Henry Siwicke, 76, of Peoria, passed away at 12:25 PM on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at his residence. He was born on April 23, 1942 in Peoria to Henry and Dorothy (Kooken) Siwicke. He married his wife, Martha, in Peoria on September 10, 1996. She survives, along with three sons William Siwicke of Hanna City, and Trevor and Matthew Siwicke, both of Peoria; three grandchildren Caleb, Joshua, and Jacob Longstreth; two sisters Judy (Dave) Blair of East Peoria and Joan (Tom) Mulherin of Morton; one brother Jerry Siwicke of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents and two daughters, Julie Longstreth and Jill Siwicke.
James was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He was an Army veteran, serving from 1960 to 1963. He had graduated from Spaulding Institute, and had attended Bradley University. He had worked at Caterpillar for over 40 years, developing six US patents during this time. He was very active with the Boy Scouts, he served as a Committee Chairman. He also mentored several boys, including two of his sons, to obtain their Eagle Scout Awards. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Peoria Chapter of the American Welding Society, and he was a Past Chairman of the American Society of Metals.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at St Jude Catholic Church in Peoria. Fr. Patrick Henehan will officiate. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral in Peoria and also for one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
