

She was born on March 25, 1933 in Peoria, the daughter of Alva E and Fern Bingamon Pitcher. She married Harold L Schmeilski on February 28, 1953. He preceded her in death on August 5, 2005.
Jean is survived by three children; William (Veronica) Schmeilski of Lake Wales, FL, Kim (David) Schmeilski-Wyzlic of Metamora, IL, and Steven Schmeilski of Peoria, IL; five grandchildren: Wesley (Carolina) Schmeilski of Brimfield, IL, Aaron Schmeilski of Denver, CO, Cole Schmeilski of Mossville, IL, Abigail (Louis) Getz of Morton, IL and Joseph Wyzlic of Peoria, IL; four great-grandchildren, Wesley, William, Isabella and Sunday; one brother, Ronald (Melony) Pitcher of Dahinda, IL and one sister, Sandra (Billy) Randle of Bartonville, IL.
She attended Pleasant Hill Grade School and Manuel Training High School. Jean was a stay at home mom until her children were in their teens. She worked at P A Bergner’s from 1972-1993 retiring after 21 years of service. She loved her dog Casey. Jean enjoyed playing BUNCO, crocheting, and basket weaving. After retirement, Jean and Harold enjoyed wintering in Tucson, Arizona. She was of the Baptist faith. Jean was known for her generosity, compassion, and unconditional love for her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-mother, Anna (Terlep) Pitcher and great-grandson, Leo Wyzlic.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be an hour prior.
Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria, IL.
