Born in 1947 in Peoria, Illinois, Jenelle was the daughter of the late Wade and Stella Danner. She married the love of her life, Charles Harry Summers, who preceded her in death on March 12, 2021.
Jenelle dedicated much of her life to the family business, Danner's Salads in Peoria, where she worked alongside her family until her retirement. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time at Heartland Dog Training Center and the Pearce Community Center, where she made many cherished friendships.
Above all, Jenelle was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a warm smile that could brighten any room and a kind heart that welcomed everyone she met. Her genuine interest in others and her ability to make new friends wherever she went left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Perhaps her spirit is best captured by the heartfelt words of her seven-year-old granddaughter, Elloise: "We can always look up into the stars and know she's there and making new friends." Those simple words reflect the warmth, kindness, and joy that Jenelle shared throughout her life.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or any organization the donor sees appropriate in memory of Jenelle.
