He was born on February 20, 1942 in Monmouth, IL to Thomas Marcus and Lottie Angaline (Barron) Stewart.
He married Ruth E. Lowery on February 19, 1966. She survives.
Jerry is also survived by his 5 children, Penny (Randy) Smith of Pekin, Jerry (Patricia) Stewart Jr., Traci (Ronald) Price of Peoria, Amanda (Doug) Meyers of Washington and Carrie (Trevor) Smith of Carlock; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, David (Mona) Stewart of Peoria; three sisters, Nancy Cook of Peoria, Judy (Dick) Thomas of Canton and Pam (Greg) Wooden of Peoria; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.
Jerry worked as a drywall finisher until retiring. He was a proud U.S. Marine Veteran. Jerry was an avid Cubs fan and loved all music, but especially Country Western.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria. Rev. Karl Eckhoff will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Additional visitation will be held on Monday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
Burial with military honors will be in Lutheran Cemetery.
