Joan was born on April 4, 1947 to Helen and Alfred Rapp in Peoria. She was a proud alumni of Peoria Central High School and went on to study accounting at Robert Morris College in Carthage. After college Joan worked as the head of invoicing at Keystone Steel & Wire where she was a union negotiator for the Independent Steel Worker’s Alliance and went on to sell real estate for Traders Reality.
In 1978, Joan met the love of her life, Charles Kuntz who she married on October 27, 1979. Joan & Chuck went on to have two daughters, Jennifer & Katee. Katee & her husband, Tony, recently welcomed Joan’s first grandchild, Topper, whom she adored.
Joan was a lifelong car enthusiast who loved and raced Porsches. She was a proud Packers & Cardinals fan and an avid concert goer with a deep love for Tina Turner. It was important to her that her daughters were raised surrounded by great music like Tina, Fleetwood Mac, Rolling Stones, Lovin’ Spoonful & Moody Blues. She was as well read as she was well traveled and her favorite place in the world was Walloon Lake, Michigan where she spent as much of her time as possible. Joan also loved to ski, ride horses and spend time with her many dogs over the years.
Joan is preceded in death by her first best friends, her parents, Al & Helen who she has missed dearly for many years. She is survived by her husband, Chuck, her daughters, Jennifer & Katee, her son-in-law, Tony, her grandson, Topper, her lifelong best friend, Marilyn Quiram & her golden doodle, Stevie Nicks.
