JoAnne "Jody" S. Dean

She was born on January 2, 1933 in Baltimore, Maryland, the 4th daughter of Earl & Blanche Seiter. She married Joseph O. Dean, MD on June 12, 1954, and he preceded her in death on June 12, 2013.

Jody was a devoted and loving mother who will be remembered for her quick smile and warm hugs. She is survived by her four children, Joseph O. “Mike” (Joan) Dean, III of Roseville, CA, Scott E. (Mary) Dean MD of Panama City, FL, Martin S. (Kathy) Dean of Manakin-Sabot, VA, and Gayle (Michael) Gatz of Chillicothe, IL; her 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

An active member at Northminster Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Dean also volunteered for many local social services including Visiting Nurses Association, Meals on Wheels, Boy Scouts of America and Friendship House.

Jody enjoyed travelling the world with her husband, the bounties of nature, gardening, and her greatest love was serving and worshiping our Lord.

The family would like to thank all of the employees at Heartland in Henry for the wonderful care they took of Jody for her 20-year journey with early on-set Alzheimer’s disease.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Monday, November 14, 2016 at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 10720 N. Knoxville Ave in Peoria.
