Born Feb. 12, 1933 in Columbus, MS to Joe and Lucinda (Verdell) Clayborn Sr. He married Annie Hamilton in Columbus, MS on Jan. 21, 1953. She survives.
Also surviving are six daughters, Frances Clayborn, LaVerne Clayborn, Patricia (Alan) Cornelious, Lori Graham, Carla Clayborn, Marla Clayborn; one son, Carlos Farmer; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Corean (Alvis) Rutherford, Mary Ann (Ray) Williams; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James Farmer and four sisters.
Joe worked at Caterpillar Inc., retiring in 1995. He liked to garden, hunt and fish.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria with Pastor Joseph Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the chapel. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
