He was born June 30, 1944 in Peoria to John and Idell (Foster) Watt. He married Patricia Rudd on April 15, 1967 in Peoria. She survives along with one son, John Watt, III of Las Vegas NV, and one daughter, Melissa Idell Watt of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Hugh Watts and Alvie Watt.
Big John was a Campus Police Officer for District 150 for 30 years retiring in September, 2000.
He was a member of the Illinois Police Benevolent Protection Association and the District 150 Campus Police Association.
Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 14, 2022 at 12 Noon at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association Peoria Chapter or the American Kidney Foundation.
