

Peoria-Johnnie Lee Harris, 84, of Peoria, passed away at 5:10p.m. on Friday November 18, 2011 at St. Francis Medical Center. He was born on August 4, 1927 in Carbondale to Fred Sr. and Eliza Harris. He married Maggie Lee Thomas on February 28, 1951 in Peoria
.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Maggie Lee Harris along with 14 children, Remona Harris and Johnny Harris from a previous marriage, Regina (Fred) Wright, Angela (Christopher-Deceased) Stewart, Victoria Stewart, Gail (Robert) Johnson, Michael (Terry) Harris, Tommy (Tammy) Harris, Russell Harris, Teresa Harris, Eileen (Mark) Gibson, Leanna Harris, Paulette (Robert) Blakes, and Kenneth (Felicia) Harris, 20 Grandkids and 40 Great-Grandkids.
Also surviving are his siblings: Fred Harris Jr. of Peoria, James (Loretta) Harris of TN, Audrey (Willie) Reed of FL, Frankie Harris of VA, Al Hardin (Helen-deceased) Harris of OK, Amos Harris of KY, Dorothy Harris Williams of FL, and Herbertine (Joseph) Johnson of IL, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents, one brother,( Edward Harris), two grandchildren, one great- grandchild, one son-in-law (Christopher Stewart) and one grandson-in-law.
He had been a self-employed body repairman at H+W Autobody in Peoria, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Jesus Name Free Church in Peoria. He was a WWII Army veteran.
The Harris Family would like to thank Nurse Bobby and the Methodist Medical Center Staff.
Funeral services will be held on Friday November 25, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Davison Fulton Woodland Chapel. Reverend Tommy Harris will officiate and Reverend Robert Wolf of Jesus Name Free Church will deliver the eulogy. A visitation will be from 12:30 to 1;30 p.m. also on Friday. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Davison –Fulton Woodland Chapel is in care of the arrangements.
