Joseph S. "Sonny" Dibuono, 91, of East Peoria, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Snyder Village. Born in Peoria, on September 21, 1934, he was the son of the late Samuel and Josephine (Maggio) Dibuono. On June 2, 1956, he married Donna Maxine Mason. She preceded him in death on March 27, 2011. Joseph served in the US Navy and was honorably discharged.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindi (Jerry) Humphres and Theresa Dibuono; a grandson, Derek (Ashley) Humphres; two great-granddaughters, Lennon and Sloane; and a sister, Rosemary (Harold) Marteness. Aside from his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Madeline Aiello and Suzanne Haas.
Joseph worked at Keystone Steel and Wire for over 30 years.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery.
