Joseph M. Hicks, 35, of Belleville, IL, formerly of Peoria, passed away at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014 in Belleville. He was born March 19, 1979 in Peoria to Michael and Karen (Metzger) Hicks. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Douglas Pettit; grandfather, Phillip Metzger; and grandparents, Paul and Bessie Metzger and Lee and Pearl Reed. Surviving are his grandparents, Regina (and Harold) Campbell; uncle, Kevin (and Colleen) Metzger, and their children, Riley and Amber; and several cousins. Joseph received his Associate Degree from Southwestern IL Community College. He was an avid Cardinal fan and loved working on computers. Graveside Services will be at 1 pm Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Prospect Cemetery in Dunlap. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements. A Memorial Service will be held in Belleville, IL at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.
