Born to the late Elmer Dalton and Nora Deemie Dalton, Juanita brought energy and warmth into every room she entered. She lived her life with a generosity of spirit that touched everyone she met. Juanita was extroverted, wonderfully loud, and unapologetically herself. She also possessed a rare ability to find the silver lining in any situation, facing life’s challenges with unshakeable optimism.
Above all else, Juanita was the ultimate mother. It was the role she was born for and the title she cherished most. She was defined by her selflessness, consistently sacrificing her time, resources, and energy to ensure her children and loved ones were taken care of. Her maternal instincts knew no bounds, spilling over to care for friends, neighbors, and anyone else who needed comfort.
Juanita’s legacy lives on through her six children: Gary, Amy (Clark), Angela (Harris), D.J., Ryan, and A.J.; and her siblings, Terry Dalton and Tonyia Allender. She was the proud grandmother of ten and great-grandmother of eight. She also leaves behind her cherished pets, Bo and Jinger.
She is now reunited in peace with her parents, her brother Dennis Ray, and her beloved partner, David Purtle.
Cremation rites have been accorded, and a celebration of Juanita's life will be held on December 19th at 4:00 PM at 1704 South East Lane, Peoria, IL. In honor of Juanita, the family asks for donations to the American Heart Association.
