

Judy was born on October 10, 1944 in Peoria Illinois, to William “Babe” and Evelyn (Malmgren) King. She married Kenneth Sunderland on July 4, 1964, he survives.
Also surviving are her four children, Theresa (Steve) Armstrong of Runnells, IA, Scott ( Michelle) Sunderland of Dahinda, IL, Jason (Jennifer) Sunderland of Dunlap, IL, Matthew (Jennifer) Sunderland of Rochester, IL; six grandchildren, Philip, Hannah, Eli, Ryan ,Sarah, and Klaire; and her brothers, Chuck (Donna) Ensor of Peoria and Bill (Kathy) King of Hannibal, MO.
Judy graduated from Richwoods High School in 1962 and attended Bradley University.
Judy had a larger than life personality that would light up a room when she entered. She used her personality to not only bring joy to her family but also to the people in her community.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Cursillo and CASA. She served on the Board of Directors of St. Augustine Manor.
She was a bus driver for Dunlap Dist. 323 for over 30 years, retiring in 2012. She volunteered to coach the Dunlap High School’s first freshmen girls’ basketball team and helped them achieve back to back undefeated seasons. She was inducted to the Illinois Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame as a Friend of Basketball. She was not only a Dunlap Eagles fan, but a fan of every athlete to wear a Dunlap Eagles jersey.
Judy was actively involved as a member of Kiwanis International through the Dunlap and Early Bird Clubs. She served in many officer positions including; Governor of the Illinois/Eastern Iowa District, District Secretary, LT Governor, the Dunlap Club Past Distinguished President, Secretary, and Treasurer, as well as, the Early Bird Treasurer, and chairperson of numerous District conventions.
Above all, Judy was passionate about her grandchildren. She was the biggest cheerleader at all of her grandchildren’s events. Their best times and memories were of spending vacations together in Minnesota. She was her grandkid’s best friend.
Funeral services for Judy will be at 2:00 pm Monday at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Deacon Bob Myers will officiate. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to St. Augustine Manor or Kiwanis Spastic Paralysis Foundation.
