

She was born Jan. 16, 1943 in St. Louis, MO to Lyle K. and Florence (Held) Henretty. She married Alan W. Wells in Pontiac, MI on Sept. 5, 1964. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Daniel T. (Mary) Wells of Princeville, and their children, Aaron and Andrew; Stephen M. (Kathi) Wells of Frankfort, and their children, Matthew and Katie; two brothers, Lyle (Merry) Henretty of Delaware, OH, George (Dawn) Henretty of Berkley, MI; and two sisters, Florence (Bill) Nezamis of Grand Ledge, MI, and Mary Jo Henretty-Jornales of Holland, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kathleen worked as an RN for many years in both the Pekin Hospital and OSF St. Francis in Peoria. She later went back to school to learn bookkeeping and other office skills, and worked many more years as an office “temp” at a local law firm.
She loved quilting, and was a long-time member of Gems of the Prairie quilt guild in Peoria and was a founding member of Piecemakers quilt guild in Galesburg. She was active in the AFS exchange student program and was a counselor for AFS for a period of time.
Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010 at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Cremation will be accorded following services.
