

She was born on May 11, 1935, in Peoria, Ill., to Charles J. and Edna K. (Smith) Taylor. She married Robert E. Vermillion on Aug. 29, 1953, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Peoria. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2007, in Peoria.
Her parents; four brothers, Bud, Dick, Keith and George; and one son-in-law, Russ Foster; preceded her in death.
Surviving are her children, Patti Foster of Peoria, Bobbi (Brian) Soule of Germantown Hills, Diana (Terry) Young of Glasford, Chuck (Julie) Vermillion of Peoria and David (Teri) Vermillion of Yates City; grandchildren, Tera, Luke, Dane, Keli, Sara, Taylor, Nathan, Ben and Kelcey; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Brylee, Presley, Easton, Tyson and Sawyer.
Kay was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
A funeral service will be on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at 1 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Father Neri Greskoviak will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. The family will receive friends at the Bartonville American Legion Post 979 from 3 to 6 p.m., following the burial.
