

He was born October 28, 1924 in Vienna, Austria, to Sigmund and Frieda (Klein) Griminger. He married Charlotte Miller on June 26, 1953 in Washington, DC. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Heidi (Scott) Blanke of Lacrosse, Wisconsin, Lise (Hugh) Higgins of Peoria, Illinois and Joe Griminger (Amy Doberman) of Bethesda, Maryland; eight grandchildren, Deah (Matt) Harambasic, Aaron Blanke, Hannah Blanke, Rachel (Tony) Kline, Seth Higgins, Emily Griminger, Jillian Griminger and Mollie Griminger; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Season of Peoria, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his two older brothers, Paul and Walter Griminger.
Kurt was a graduate of Bradley University, class of 1963. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, earning the rank of second lieutenant and was awarded both the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. After the Korean War, he and Charlotte settled in Peoria, where he worked for Sell-Rite Sales, Miracle Mart, Caterpillar Tractor Company, Standard Wine and Liquor, and Sears Roebuck and Co. He also owned and operated a medical billing service, Prodata of Central Illinois.
He was a member of Agudas Achim Synagogue and the Peoria Hebrew Cemetery Association.
Kurt was a loving son, brother, husband and father and was a loyal and generous friend to all who knew him.
A service will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2014, 2:00 pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria, with visitation from 1- 2 pm. Rabbi Daniel Bogard will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Peoria at the Hebrew Cemetery in West Peoria.
