Larry married the love of his life, Randy Farden, on December 17, 2013, in Honolulu, Hawaii. They shared many wonderful years together before Randy’s passing on February 18, 2018.
Larry is survived by his mother, Bonnie Crowe; his sister, Dawn Tate; his brother, Wade Vielhak; three special nieces, Andrea Clarchick, Desiree Williams, and Samantha Vielhak; five great-nephews; three step-sisters, Debbie (Rodger) Hanlon, Linda Moore and Lorraine (Chad) Hazelwood; and numerous close cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved little dog, Dannie. He was preceded in death by his father and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
During his time living in Hawaii, Larry embraced the warm weather and vibrant culture. He worked as a server at an oceanside restaurant, where he had the opportunity to meet many celebrities. A natural people person, Larry made friends wherever he went and was known for his quick wit and sense of humor.
Larry had a deep appreciation for history, particularly Peoria’s local history and classic cars. He also had a remarkable musical talent, teaching himself to play the piano by ear. His love for 1940s big band music and old movies was a testament to his appreciation for the past and the stories it held.
Larry’s warmth, humor, and love for life will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial contributions in Larry’s name may be made to PAWS.
