Larry Joe Wright, 74, of Peoria passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Carle Health Proctor Hospital. Born in Pontiac, MI, on April 19, 1951, he was the son of Richard and Lula (Davis) Wright. Following graduating at University High School in Normal, he enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged. On April 10, 1978, he married Becky Nocera.
Surviving Larry is his wife, Becky Wright; three children, Cory (Jennifer Bailey) Wright, Josh Wright, and Michelle (Reese Moss) Wright; nine grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren; and three brothers.
Larry was employed as a machinist at Caterpillar and retired after 30 years. He enjoyed playing sports, playing as a DJ with his love for music, and above all else loved his grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at New Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
