Laura Callahan, 86, of Peoria passed away at 6:40 pm Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at her residence. She was born September 8, 1930 in Quincy the daughter of Verline Scott. She married James Callahan on September 13, 1952. Laura is survived by one son, Scott Callahan of Spring Bay; one daughter, Sandra Hacker of Washington; three grandchildren, Ian Callahan, Neil Callahan, and Kaylie (Taylor) Judd; and one great-grandchild, Adalyn Callahan. She was preceded in death by her mother. Laura was a switchboard operator for Fleming and Potter until her retirement in 1995. She is a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Laura was a past member of Bartonville FEMS. Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be at 3:30 pm Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Pastor Barry Long will officiate. Memorials may be made to TAPS. Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
