Nugget and I worked together at Happy Joe's in Galesburg back in the 80's. I have some great memories with him. He was the sweetest guy with a big heart. He would drag me along with him when he officiated  which I loved to watch him do his thing. I will miss him dearly and wished I had a chance to talk to him one last time. He was one of a kind. Love u Nugget!

Mike Ben and Carolyn,  I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. May you find peace knowing he is in Gods arms and is in peace. He looks just like his brothers. I bet you all enjoyed skating and other sports. You have your many memories to help you  when the pain lessens. Miss you all. Ivy

I worked with Larry at the water company the last 14 years. When I started in 2008, my son was just 2 months old. Larry had covered a lot of overtime shifts for me so I could spend time with my son. If it wasn’t for him, I would’ve missed out on a lot of great memories. Larry was always talking about his family. We had talked a lot about him retiring in the next 5 years and what he wanted to do in that time. He wanted to spend it with them and watch his grandkids grow up. The hardest part of losing Larry is knowing that he will miss those moments with them. To his family and loved ones, my family and I wish you all our heartfelt condolences.

“Lil Sis or J” is what he called me. He always was full of life, laughs and love. That was the gift God gave him to share with the world - A huge heart and even bigger Smile that brought Joy to so many. He served his purpose on this Earth - Well Done! We were already making plans just weeks ago - Taco hideout and skating were on the list , and although God had other plans for my brother- I am at perfect peace knowing our final words were “ Love You”❤️
Rest In Peace my brother 4 Life- Larry .. aka Nugget.. aka Nudge - so many alias for all his wonderful personalities 🥰 Oh and did I mention his Ball Cap collection❤️❤️❤️

I first met Larry in 1981 when I coached him on the  Happy Joe's baseball team in the old Senior Hardball League in Galesburg. He was a good, exuberant player, and was always upbeat and happy. Whenever we would meet after his playing days were over, he would always flash that wide smile and say Hey Coach!, no matter how many years had passed. The world is a little sadder place without Larry. 

It was my honor to have officiated with Larry at the 2019 IHSA girls basketball state tournament.  Larry was a darn good official.  Though that weekend was the first time I had ever met him, it felt like we had been friends for decades.  Saturday night after the games all the officials went to BWW to celebrate.  I’m not sure I have ever laughed as hard as I did that night; tears in my eyes while my jaws and side hurt.  It was a great time and Larry had us in stitches.  We were hoping we would work together at another state tournament.  It is hard to explain how hard the news of his passing has hit me.  I will miss my friend.  My sincere condolences to his family.  Eternal rest grant on him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. 

Larry was more than a coworker for me, I got the opportunity to get close with him over the 2 1/2 years I’ve worked for Illinois American Water.  No matter what he had going on during or after work, when I called him for ANY assistance he was there!!! He was truly an uncle figure for me. I send my condolences to his entire family, he spoke about his grands and daughters a lot. He will truly be missed and my career will forever be impacted from this sudden loss. 

Such a wonderful man, father, grandfather, friend.  Always a kind word and smile.  He will be greatly missed.  May his family find comfort in the days, weeks and months to come.  Chuck and I send our love to Aubree, Trey, Buddy & Tatum.

Larry was a very good friend of ours. He came to visit us in Las Vegas 3 months ago. We really had a good time and I’m so glad we were able to get together. I’m going to miss talking to him  about reffing basketball and giving him games. He was like my little brother.  Larry rest well my brother!  🙏🏽💙🙏🏽  Mike and Sharon
