

Leo F. Trainer 92, of Bartonville passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 3:02 am at Hopedale Nursing Home. Leo was born April 25, 1922 in East Peoria, the son of Simon and Minnie Lane Trainer. He married Barbara Irwin in September of 1943. He later married Beulah Rollings on February 12, 1960.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years; two daughters, Virginia (Douglas) Keller of Huger, SC, Linda Trainer of Bloomington; two step-daughters, Peggy Bragg of Bartonville, and Kathy Jackson of Pekin; one step-son, Mike (Becky) Rollings of Groveland; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and special neighbors, Bill and Nancy Jacobs. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one granddaughter, and his beloved dog, Tasha. He was a machine operator for thirty-seven years at Caterpillar Tractor Company until his retirement in 1978. Leo was active with the Peoria Blind Center, including the bowling league. He was an avid Cub fan and WWE fan. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and gardening. He was a U. S. Army Veteran. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2014 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Pastor Jack Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2014 also at the funeral home. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery.
