He was born on November 7, 1932 in Peoria to Leslie C. and Ruth M. (Coon) Grimm Sr. He married Sally Jo Knickerbocker on September 10, 1955 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Leslie “Chris” (LeaAnn) Grimm III of Peoria and Daniel Grimm of East Peoria; one daughter, Laura (Christopher) Parrish of Belleville, IL; two granddaughters, Ashleigh (Cole) Hicke of East Peoria and Kaitlin Schenck of Swansea, IL; three grandsons, Jason Rashid, Matt Grimm and Nick Grimm all of Peoria; one great-grandson, Brigham Hicke; one sister, Joann Gentry of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bobby and Allen.
Junior was proud to have owned and operated a full service automobile station. He was a United States Army Korean War Veteran. He enjoyed golfing and working in his yard but most of all loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids who referred to him as “Papa”. Junior also was proud to be a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family services will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors or Lutheran Hillside Village.
