

Lillian E. Rindfleisch, 86, of Peoria, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center in Peoria. It was the end of a long road that Lillian had during her 8½ year journey with dementia. Born August 17, 1930 in Peoria, IL to William and Edith (Mueller) Keyes; she married James R. Rindfleisch on July 31, 1948 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on September 30, 1994 in Peoria. Also preceding in death were her daughter, Irene Rindfleisch on August 31, 2016; five brothers and one sister. Surviving are; her son, James I. (Kathy) Rindfleisch of Peoria; granddaughter, Melanie (David) Schaafsma of Bloomington, IL; grandson, Kyle Rindfleisch of Peoria; great grandchildren, Rylee, Marisa, Drew and Cole Schaafsma; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Linda) Rindfleisch of Washington and Ralph (Georganna) Rindfleisch of Peoria; sisters-in-law, Beverley Walker of Hanna City, and Phyllis Kerkhove, Gloria VanDyke and Bonnie (Thomas) Smithee, all of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews. Lillian was a 1948 graduate of Manual High School and retired from Illinois Furniture in 1995 as a clerical worker. She enjoyed traveling and movies. She was a lifelong member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Peoria where services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 22, 2016 with the Rev. Steven Tibbetts officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to her church or the Alzheimer’s Association – Central Illinois Chapter. Lillian’s family extends special thanks to the staff of Heddington Oaks Nursing Home and Rosewood Care Center of Peoria for their loving care and support over the past 6½ years.
