

She was a beloved daughter, sibling, aunt, and sister in Christ.
Lois was born on October 12, 1926, in Peoria, Illinois, to Edna (Callear) Neal and Benjamin Neal. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Guervin Perry (Jessie), Benjamin Neal Jr. (Betty); and sisters, Mildred Hughes (Charles), Gladys Yaeger (Joseph), Shirley Poston (Homer). She was also preceded in death by Chearld Garvin, whom Lois thought of as a daughter.
She is survived by her brother in-law, Homer Poston; several nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved dearly.
Lois retired from Caterpillar in 1972, after 35 years of service which began as a bicycle mail carrier through the factories, later advancing into bookkeeping.
After retirement, Lois enjoyed many years of traveling with friends and family throughout the U.S., and visited Africa, England, and Canada.
Throughout her life she was very involved with her church, South Side Mission, Neighborhood House, Friendship House, and the Caterpillar Retirees' Club. Lois was a very devout Christian, and an example to all who knew her. She always had a child-like spirit, and loved adventure and celebrating any occasion with much enthusiasm. Lois even got to experience riding an ostrich in Africa. She will be dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 12pm, with a visitation prior at 11am at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel at 2021 N University St, Peoria, IL, 61604. Burial will take place at Parkview Cemetery.
