She was born on April 6, 1927, in Newport, Arkansas to Monroe and Alice (Crittenton) Watson. She previously married Tom Jackson. She later met her long time partner, Robert Shockley. He preceded her in death.
Lois is also preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Alice; her children, Delores Groves, Thomas Jackson, and Luella Lacy; and 6 siblings.
She is survived by her sons, Henry Jackson of Peoria, Louis Jackson of Peoria, and Jimmy Jackson of Chicago; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Lois worked in housekeeping for Proctor hospital for over 30 years until her retirement. She was of Baptist faith. Lois was a fantastic cook, enjoyed reading, watching soap operas, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 11am, with a visitation to start a half-hour prior at 10:30am. Burial will take place at Parkview Cemetery.
