Louise S. Burke

Louise S. Burke, 98, of Peoria passed away at 9:50 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Proctor Endowment Home. Louise was born October 25, 1913 in Rozwell, New Mexico the daughter of G. Howard & Olive (Wood) Sumner. She married Dr. Russell J. Burke October 25, 1940. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1986. She is survived by her daughter, Sue (Ronald) Maestri of Metairie, LA; three grandsons, Jon (Rhonda) Maestri of Metairie, LA, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Nye of Houston, Scott (Karen) Nye of Atlanta; one granddaughter, Kristin (Kevin) Dobson of Metairie, LA ;six great-grandsons, Brandon, Zachary and Andrew Nye, Noah and Jacob Dobson, andZackary Maestri; two great granddaughters, Allison Nye and Alexandra Maestri. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one daughter Martha Nye; and one great-grandson, Joshua James Dobson. She was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Bradley University in 1935 Louise was a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter FQ, Pi Beta Phi Sorority, and Service League of Methodist Hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. October 6, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Chaplain Mary Jane West will officiate.
