Lyle was born in Colfax, Illinois on May 18, 1930.
On April 4, 1965, Lyle married the love of his life, Margaret Robinson. Their 60 years together were filled with love, laughter, and family.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Margaret, children, Cheryl Lawrence and Michael (Wendy) Lawrence; four grandchildren: Autumn, Benjamin (Mette), Thomas, and Holly; three sisters, Juanita Prather, Bonnie Marsh, and Donna Kirkpatrick; and one brother, Paul (Dorita) Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and James Grove, and two siblings, Darlene Elmore and Harley Grove.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Lyle will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, and his enjoyment of the simple things — especially fishing and bowling.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Prairie Dragon Paddlers.
A visitation for Lyle will be held Monday, September 29, 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:00 PM at Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home, Peoria. A funeral service will occur at 1:00 PM, with a graveside service to follow at Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
