Marilyn was born August 17, 1941 in Peoria and was adopted by Henry and Ina McKinnie. She had one Brother Donald McKinnie who proceeded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband James (Jim) Davis of Peoria, son Allen (Mary) Davis of Brimfield and daughter Michelle (Joe) Carter of Bartonville, 5 grandchildren: Amanda (Derrick) Berg , Adam (Alicia) Davis, Joshua Carter, Jacob Carter and Justin Carter and three great-grandchildren, sister in-law and several nephews and nieces.
Marilyn married Jim in Peoria on March 27, 1961 and was married 57 years.
Marilyn worked as a key punch operator at Peoria Area Association of Realtors and Becker Company in Peoria in the early 70's.
She later enjoyed volunteering at Wildlife Prairie Park in Hanna City, IL in the general store.
She was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed planting flowers and hostas in the family garden. She also was an avid collector and enjoyed collecting precious moment figurines.
Marilyn was an animal lover and had many pets including birds, fish, rabbits and dogs.
She was a pretty good cook and enjoyed home canning, fruits and vegetables.
Marilyn’s wishes were to be cremated and not to have any services at this time. A small family gathering at burial site in Parkview cemetery will be held at a later date.
