She was born Sep. 6, 1937 in Peoria to John and Ann (Hafele) Zick. She married Ronald E. Johnson, Sr. July 7, 1954 in Peoria. He survives along with her mother Ann Zick of Peoria, two daughters: Lori Ann Drake of El Paso, IL, Suzanne L. (Joel) Rickey of El Paso, IL, two sons: Ronald E. (Anita) Johnson, Jr., of Peoria, Scott S. (Diana) Johnson of Peoria, eleven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Marilyn earned her Undergraduate and Masters Degree through Bradley University in Fine Arts.
Marilyn taught in the Fine Arts Department at Bradley University and was currently teaching at ICC. She also has been teaching painting classes at Lakeview Museum for over 25 years. She was a very talented local professional artist.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no public services. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
