She was born February 4, 1925 in Kewanee, a daughter of Lawrence Clifford and Elsie L. Turner Smith. She married Robert Gerald Risser on October 12, 1946 in Washington. Marjorie and Robert raised their family in Normal, IL and resided there for over thirty years. He preceded her in death in November 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are two children, Michael (Saeko) Risser of Whittier, CA, Patricia K. Meeks of Peoria; one brother, Leroy Smith of Morton; two grandchildren, Aaron Meeks, and Erik (Gina) Meeks; and one nephew, Mark (Chris) Smith.
Marjorie was employed by the Circuit Clerk of McLean County retiring in 1984.
She was of Methodist faith.
She loved working in her yard and enjoyed golfing.
