

Marlene J. Crandell, 86, of Hanna City, IL, passed away on July 26, 2024 at a local hospital. She was born in Swindon, Wiltshire, England, on June 25, 1938, to parents, Frank G. LeMaitre and Florence E. Morrish LeMaitre. Marlene immigrated with her parents to the US in June 1950 and became a United States Citizen in 1957. She graduated from Woodruff High School on June 7, 1956. On April 27, 1957, she married Frank R. "Dick" Crandell, who preceded her in death on June 16, 2013.
Marlene is survived by her daughter, Lori Winter (Mike) of Hanna City; son, Rick Crandell (Susan) of Bartonville; four grandchildren, Jeni Rossiter (TJ) of Glasford, Jake Winter (Shonna) of Glasford, Shawn Crandell of Hanna City, and Karys Crandell of Chicago; five great-grandchildren, Kihler, Grayson, Remi, Corbin, and Owen; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gib and Mary Russell.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Sam Crandell, on November 13, 2021.
Marlene retired in December 1999 from Peoria School District #150 after 30 years in the Food Service Department. At the time of her retirement, she was serving as Food and Nutrition Services Director.
Marlene had been an active member of the former St. Andrew's Anglican Church and more recently at St. Michael and All Angels Church for more than 70 years. She had been a member of the choir and chairperson of the AC for many years.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A funeral service will be at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, with visitation from 9 am until 11:30 am at St. Michael and All Angels Church in Peoria, Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
