

Martha was born on September 3, 1934 in Adamsville, TN to James Henry and Arna Gladys (Inman) Walker. She married the love of her life, William Leon Barnhart, Jr., on December 14, 1952 in East Peoria, IL. He preceded her in death in October of 1988. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her children, Gina (Bob) Zindt of Peoria, IL, Sheri (Mike) Bell of Edwards, IL, Tony DaSilva of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and James W. “Bill” (Susan) Barnhart of Peoria, IL; her grandchildren, Amanda, Leslie and Robb Zindt, Ryan (Erin) Bell, Molly (John) Pflederer, Amy (Blake) Barnard, Jasen Barnhart, and Katie Barnhart; her great-grandchildren, Mara, Noah, Dalton, Samuel, Nathan, Matthew, Adam, Jack, Maxwell, Jade and Carlie; and her brother, Charles Walker of Cloudcroft, NM.
Martha was a loving wife, mother and GiGi; she was very dedicated to her family and loved them unconditionally. She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church for 54 years and served in the nursery for over 30 years. Martha lived life to the fullest; she volunteered for Susan G. Komen’s “Reach for Recovery” and for St. Jude, she had her card party girls, her bowling leagues, and her Bible study girls, whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed playing golf and traveling. Martha had a huge heart and was always willing to give of herself for others.
Martha’s family would like to thank everyone from Manor Care at Liberty Village for their love and respect and the great care they took of Martha.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2014 at 11am at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria with visitation beginning at 9am. Rev. Doug Lightly will be officiating. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen, Grace Presbyterian Church or the American Heart Association.
