Mary E. Bowers

Mary was born April 11, 1930 in Groveland, IL to Reuben and Cora (Zimmerman) Staker. She married Douglas M. Bowers on April 12, 1952 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2012.

Surviving are their children, Judy (Ron) Fowler and Kaethe (Jim) Janis, both of Peoria and Jeff (Barb) Bowers of Murrieta, CA; grandchildren, Robert A. (Stefanie) Janis, Bernie Bowers, Ashley (Robert) Parmenter and Matt (Jessica) Fowler; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Evelyn M. Clubb of Peoria.

She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Mary worked at Caterpillar Inc. for over 15 years retiring in 1987.

Her funeral service will be at 11:30 Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Bob DeBolt will officiate. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Jude, using the Telethon VIP #201 in honor of Mary’s grandson Robert or to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
