Mary DuBois, 71, of Lutz, Florida, formally of Germantown Hills, passed away peacefully and with grace, and surrounded by her family on Friday, June 13th at Empath Suncoast Hospice, after a courageous 4-year battle with cancer.
Mary was born on March 4, 1954, in Peoria, to Thomas and Margaret Driscoll. She married Michael DuBois on October 24, 1975. They raised their 3 children in Metamora.
Mary is survived by her husband Mike, children Brad (Michelle) DuBois, Jessica (Dan) Kentner, Dan (Melissa) DuBois, 6 grandchildren (Jack, Cole, Josie, Dodge, Liam, Finn), her 9 siblings and their spouses, along with many nieces and nephews.
Mary graduated as an LPN from ICC in 1973. Her passion for nursing and helping others encouraged her to later become an RN in 2005. Throughout her years as a nurse, she worked in pediatric offices, at OSF Hospital and Heartcare Midwest.
Mary’s love for her family was endless. Her most treasured hobby was spending precious time with her grandchildren. Mary and Mike often traveled from Florida to Colorado and back to Illinois in order to see each and every one of them. Mary also loved traveling, boating and playing golf. Once retired, she learned to play the violin and volunteered for the Peoria Historical Society and spent time as a volunteer for the Catholic Charities of Sarasota, Florida.
Mary’s kindness was contagious. She is incredibly loved by her friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial Mass will be Monday, June 30, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria. Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
