

She was born December 18, 1950, and was the daughter of Florence E. (Fahnders) Eaton and James S. Eaton Sr, both of whom preceded her in death.
Mary grew up in West Peoria where she attended kindergarten at Immaculate Conception Convent then Calvin Coolidge for a year before attending St. Mark’s Grade School with the rest of her siblings. She graduated from Peoria Central High School in 1970 and then attended Illinois Central College.
During her high school years, she was a member of the Peoria Parks and Recreation Senior Summer Band, doing several tours with the band including performing at the 1970 Osaka World Fair in Japan.
On February 12, 1988, she married Roger Dixon and they moved to Minnesota for employment opportunities. He preceded her in death.
Mary enjoyed the companionship of her pet parakeets, Prince and Butch and her Minnesota friends, Michele, Pat, Billie and Bonnie (both deceased) and Bonnie’s husband Pat. Her hobbies included working word search puzzles, collecting Hot Wheels and shopping at Walmart.
Mary is survived by her siblings, James (Connie) Eaton, Herbert (Pam) Eaton, Nancy (Steve) Dauer, Annette (Jeff) Hoerdeman, Colleen (Bruce) Kollmann and Mark (Joyce) Eaton. Two siblings, Thomas Paul and Elizabeth Ann Eaton preceded her in death. Also, surviving are a plethora of nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews, 2 aunts, a multitude of cousins and her longtime loyal friend, Catherine Bowers.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Arrangements are being made through Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria, IL. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 5-7pm at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 11am at St. Mark Catholic Church. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
