She married Richard Noren in June 1960 in Peoria, IL. He survives. She is also survived by three sons, Michael (Cathy Broyles) Noren of Peoria, James (Diane) Noren of Wellington, CO, Jeffrey (Christopher Loubsky) Noren of Skokie, IL.; one brother Richard “Ric” (Peggy) Creasy of Edelstein, IL.; three grandchildren, Bradley (Blaire) Noren of Traverse City, MI, Trinda Noren of Royal Oaks, MI, and Dalton (Justine) Noren of Fort Collins, CO.; three nieces, Robyn (Andrew) Johnson of Roscoe, IL, and Shannon (Ed Harcourt) Creasy of Indianapolis, IN., Katie Broyles of Longmont, CO.; four great grandchildren Charlie Noren, Lizzie Noren, Brylee Noren, and Makenna Noren; one grandnephew Connor Johnson.
She was preceded by her parents and one brother Ralph “Butch” Creasy.
Mary Ellen worked for 29 years at Bradley University in the Controller’s Office handling student fees. She had many hobbies that she enjoyed. After an earlier retirement Richard and her loved to go camping, and they spent quite a bit of their time in the Rio Grande Valley as Winter Texans. She was a season ticket holder for the Corn Stock Theater and Bradley Basketball, she was an avid quilter, and she was also a Civil War reenactor. She loved her family more than anything, and everyone she met loved her. She knew no stranger.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Pastor James Lillie will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Grace and Peace Lutheran Church.
