She was born May 22, 1923 in Peoria to Fred W. and Grace (Stein) Marzahn. She married Harry Vance in 1944 in Peoria. He passed away March 22, 1982 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one great-granddaughter, Trisha Vance and two daughter-in-laws.
Survivors include two sons: Walter Vance of Peoria, Robert Vance of Vincennes, Indiana, three grandchildren: Kenneth A. Vance of Peoria, Tammy L. (Ramon) Vance-Harris of Peoria, Michael L. Vance of Magnolia, Texas, eleven great-grandchildren: Cory, Kenneth Jr, Ashley, Randy, Alex, Becka, Tyler, Haylee, Skyler, Michael II, Trever, and one great-great-grandson, Kenneth III.
Mary worked at Hiram Walker for 30 years until its closing.
Funeral services will be Monday Feb. 6, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
