

He was born in Peoria, on August 13, 1990 to Brion and Sandy (Castor) McDonald. He graduated from East Peoria High School in 2008.
Matt is survived by: Parents; Brion(Debbie) McDonald of Hanna City, Sandy McDonald of East Peoria, Sister; Nikki (Todd) Roepenack of Pekin, Grandparents; Nancy (Eldon) Schoedel of Peoria, Bruce (Janis) Castor of East Peoria, Doris McDonald of Bellevue, Niece; Mallory Roepenack of Pekin, several Aunts and Uncles, and many Cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather; Hugh L. McDonald.
Matt was a great athlete growing up, playing basketball and baseball. He really enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt, trap shoot, ride four wheelers, dirt bikes, and his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, but most of all he loved to fish. He worked for Perley Cable Construction as a Directional Bore Operator. Matt had a big heart for his family and others, and would do anything to help someone in need. He volunteered his time and skills to help in the relief effort after the Washington tornado.
A funeral service for Matt will be held at 11 AM, Thursday July 17, 2014 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Pastor Zach Hoffmann will officiate. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow in Parkview Cemetery.
In honor of Matt, memorial donations may be made to the Washington Tornado Relief Fund.
