

She was born September 24, 1950 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Richard and Phyllis (Yet) Wong. She married Choi Wong on June 30, 1984 in Peoria, they have been married for 42 years. He survives along with two sisters: Shirley (Steve) Hunt of California, Margie Wong of California, and one brother, Eddie (Marlene) Wong of Washington, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mee Gen worked for Caterpillar, Inc for over 35 years, retiring in 2010 as an Administrative Assistant Professional. Her proudest achievement was becoming a Caterpillar 6-Sigma Green Belt. She then worked at OSF St Francis Medical Center part time.
She loved sewing, singing, and bowling. She received the Tom Neal award from Caterpillar Employee Mixed Chorus in 2001 for her dedication. She enjoyed bowling with the Mossville Plus bowling league and has served as the Happy Hour Ladies bowling league secretary for many years.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Mee Gen’s life will be Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m. with a short service at 3 p.m. at the Davison-Fulton Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home in Peoria.
Inurnment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Stickney, IL at a later date.
