She was born on April 26, 1975 in Peoria to Dennis Dale and Carol Lynn (Marchand) Arnold.
She married Timothy Wayne Johnson on October 16, 2010 in Germantown Hills. He survives.
Melissa is also survived by her father, Dennis (Vicki) Arnold of Peoria; brother, John Arnold of Peoria Heights; mother in law, Marji Johnson of East Peoria; brother in law, Matthew (Heather) Johnson of Troy, IL; nephews, Aiden and Lex; aunts and uncles, Bett (Brent) Brentrup, Dave Marchand, Becky (Chuck) Gabbert, Joanne (Jeff) Lueders, Mark (Stacie) Marchand, Chris (Linda) Marchand, Ron (Judith) Arnold and Mary Arnold; numerous cousins; a large extended family; The Yaya’s; and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Schneider; father in law, Wayne Edward Johnson; aunts, Roxanna “Sam” Marchand and Judy Worley; and uncles, Jack Worley and Dan Arnold.
Melissa most recently worked at Pearl Insurance Company, where she made significant contributions and formed lasting friendships. Before that, she was a valued team member at DeKroyft- Metz.
An avid reader, Melissa found joy and solace in the pages of her favorite books. She had a special bond with her dogs, Sophie and Piglet, who brought her endless happiness and companionship. Melissa also enjoyed the peacefulness of fishing, the creativity of baking, and the art of cooking, sharing her delicious creations with family and friends.
Melissa loved being a part of Great Oaks Community Church and found strength and community in her faith. She cherished every moment spent with her adored nephews and cousins and found immense joy in their company. Above all, she was known for her selflessness, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Melissa's memorial visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Karl Figg of Great Oaks Community Church will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
