She was born on January 23, 1945 in New York to Margaret Pepe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, Bill, David and Nancy; and her Life Partner, Michael “Mick” Ruggles.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her three sons, Michael Buckingham and his wife Maggie of Wayne, MI, Daniel Buckingham and his wife Sarah of Rogersville, AL, and James Buckingham Sr. and his wife Karen of Rockford, IL. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jacob, Amber, and Brittney Buckingham, James “Jimmy” Buckingham Jr., Kaitlin and Kaila Daversa and Elizabeth.
Melodye worked as a manager at the Fast Stop Gas Station in Washington for many years until retiring. She was a lifelong Cubs fan and one of her greatest joys was playing Mr. and Mrs. Clause for St. Jude with her life partner Mick.
Cremation will be accorded. Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
